Krishnamurti Retreat Centre (KRC) is located on the banks of the river Bhagirathi in Uttarkashi, which is on the ancient pilgrim route from Rishikesh to Gomukh, the origin of the river Ganga. Sitting atop the high bank of the river, on about 1.4 acres of land, the retreat has as its backdrop the steep mountain slopes covered with pine forests. Set in the quiet rural environs of Ranari village, the retreat is surrounded by mountains and green fields on all sides.

Question: Why do we get angry?


Krishnamurti: It may be for many reasons. It may be due to ill-health, to not having slept properly, to not having the right kind of food. It may be purely a physical reaction, a nervous reaction, or it may be much deeper.

कृष्णमूर्ति : इसके कई कारण हो सकते हैं | स्वास्थ्य कि गड़बड़ी के कारण ऐसा हो सकता है, पर्याप्त नींद न होने से ऐसा हो सकता है, उचित प्रकार का भोजन न करने से ऐसा हो सकता है | यह शारीरिक प्रतिक्रिया का एक प्रकार हो सकता है, उत्तेजना के कारण संभव है या इसका कोई अधिक गहरा कारण भी हो सकता है |

Question: How can we create a happy world when there is suffering?


Krishnamurti: You did not listen to what was being said. You were occupied with your question. While I was talking, your mind was wondering how you were going to ask your question, how you were going to put it into words, so your mind was occupied with what you were going to ask, and you did not really listen.

Meditation Means to Pay Attention
